is ur homie givin it to u for free. cause if he is i'd take it if ur just gonna boost it. b16 and d16 have the same torque pretty much anyway. boosted d's r pretty fast to. stock they suck though. i think so n e way.

If you do decide to go B series. Never waste your money on the 1.6L

D series is inexpesive and common to find replacements. If you are even somewhat tight on your budget and 250 Max whp is fine with you, go with the D.

BTW, common misconcetption about the B16 and D16, the D16 has more torque.

i thinku should go with the b16. it has a good tranny as well. i think the a1 is cable and the a2 is hydraulic. u can always use mods to fix its lack of torque.

d16 and b16 torque is about the same. only difference is that the b16 has a few extra ponies at the wheels.

why in the world would you recommend a short geared tranny for a future turbo'd application?

Again money invested to get 200 whp = 2500 for engine + 2700 for turbo kit

Or 2700 for turbo kit........

Stop posting...... arghhh.... that would be horrible for boost.... youd be going through the gears way to fast... a GSR or LS tranny is best.

Yeah the motor may cost only $2k but after installation u might as well have bought a type r engine.

Pro my ***..... how about the mounts and everything else???? Do you know what you need for that swap????? In the end it costs as much as a type r.... its been shown many times on ht that a H22 costs alot to swap in.... and not counting labor.

Some pro you are.... im looking at the questions from your posts youve been asking and well your no pro....

And that motor would STILL have vtech .

And as for the swap, you also have to pound out your engine bay to get the engine to fit, and you're still looking at alot more money then I'm willing to spend.

if you're planning on minor boosting, both will give you about the same end result. also consider that you will have more room in the engine bay with the sohc, also not a huge factor, but you will only need one cam and/or cam gear with the sohc. i believe the compression is a bit lower in the sohc, being better for boost. i dunno what turbo you're looking at, but compare those prices between the kits for the b or d too.

Yeah, and the h22 will still have more power than the ITR

On topic: Go with a turbo d16 motor. It can be had for the same price as a b16, it's more fun, makes more power, and if you break something it's cheaper to fix. plus, b16's suck
