Trunk full 'o' water!!!!
I have had a bad trunk leak on my 00 Civic DX hatch for a while now. Funally took it to the dealer and had them look at it. $60 bucks later and they sealed the washer nozzle hole to fix it. Well, it still leaks. I suspect it's coming from the taillights, but I'm gonna have them look at it again FOR FREE dammit. So, anyone else go thru this? What fixed it?
I have the same car, and when it first happened, it was a pool of water in the spare tire well, and I am talking about 2 liter of water. I heard water splashing sound and I had no idea where the water came from.
Needless to say, I panic and brought the car back to dealer and what they did was, power spray the hatch glass area and they told me, not a drop of water went in. I trusted them.
Then it rain and same thing happened again. For more than a year, the only thing I did was to wipe it off, that made one of the bolts beneath the tail light rusted a little (the bolt that is hidden inside a triangle space, you need a socket to get to it).
Then I gutted everything in the back and one day, it was raining as usual and I stopped at a red light, looked back and saw water dripping in from taillight gasket. Water came in rather fast, consider the dripping interval is about 1 second apart. So I went to Honda and got a pair of taillight gaskets.
Problem solved. We had a couple really hardcore rain pour this fall and the trunk was quite dry. I would recommend change the gasket once every 2 years.

I had the same problem with my coupe. But it was the Sunroof drain lines. I just drilled two holes in the bottom of te trunk and now if there is water there it drains out.
Yup, same thing with mine, both tail light gaskets, as well as seals between the lights and the frame of the car. Honda fixed it for free b/c I had the car not even a month before it happened. Road noise is just brutal from the hatch though. When it's raining, its like a tidal wave sound back there, lol. Doesnt leak anymore however
Search is amazing. Search water or leak, archived, EG/EK Civic and you could have found this...
