As racers and gentlemen, many of you may not be as familiar with the greats of modern philosophy as you probably should be.
I'm talkin bout Martha....Stewart. And Faith....Popcorn. Yes you heard me right.
The thing you gotta understand is "Aspirational Living".
Bear with me - I barely understand it myself, though afflicted greatly by it I appear to be.
It's not about doing...You hear that Giles!
It's about being.
And being is nothing if not transient.
Which is what the velocity of money is all about.
YES - THE PARTS ARE GOING ON THE CAR (they start taking up too much room if I don't actually put them on the car).
YES - FROM BEING TO DOING TO BEING...(as far as that goes). It's always "upward" isn't it?
Scott, who feels better after a little nearly coherent raving...and while I'm raving, I may as well rave about the AC jack - WOW! Compact & Low, short handle - Lifted the heavy end of my 4000lb lathe with ease...

Huh... evidently, the reason Scott hasn't driven his car in a while has nothing to do with the state of his ITR... but the fact that he's stuck reading womyn empowerment books while wistfully wishing he was free from his self-imposed financial jail cell.
I have this image of Scott sitting on a window box blankly gazing out into the rain with a copy of EVEolution laying open in his lap while wearing a FREE STEWART! button on his teal cardigan sweater.

Dammit, forgot to drop some acid before I read Scott's post. It's easier for the non-philosophers to understand when the screen appears to be melting and talking to you.

What was that Saturday Night Live sketch...Affirmations by Stuart Smalley?

Too late - it's winter.
Indoor karts is about it for the next several months.
But I'm not concerned because deep inside the secret secured ACME Racing skunkworks facility the worlds best driving ITR is being developed. And deep inside the giant cranium of the creative genius (and purchasing manager) behind ACME Racing's incredible future success the perfect competitive mentality is evolving.
Scott, who being realistic and practical too will be watching a fascinating history of credit cards on PBS tonite..."I like cardigans because they conceal my pocket protector full of pens"...

Now he's quoting Christina Aguilara? Is the end near?
Darren, who thinks he just admitted to recognizing Christina Aguilara lyrics....it probably puts me in the same boat...except that I gave up on cardigans in high school...they just didn't get me laid enough.

I was going to change Scott's avatar to Stewart Smalley, but upon further review decided that the Suuuuuper Genius is just to damned perfect to go ******* with.
Play on...
Scott, who's car is on jackstands for the winter, and oddly enough there's not really any plans other than general maintenance. ITC is your friend.

Old fart Rat was bitten by the credit card monster early in his racing career.... and has now learned how to load up a home equity account faster than you can say "hello, P1 Auto...got any cool go-fast chit you wanna sell me?".

Home Equity Financing = "The smart way to do dumb things"
Scott, who's dipped only slightly...and generally keeps the GFCP situation on a cash basis...financially speaking I've burned off my eyebrows and bangs lighting the pipe, but have so far avoided 3rd degree burns...

Dunno.
By simple respiration, your treatise is moot; without "doing" (e.g., respiring) you'd cease to be (e.g., asphyxiate).

Dude, you have a lathe?
And you're talking about re-fi's?
You should be supporting your crack habit with the cajoled funds of your audience, by selling them your pimpy hand lathed RACE CAR parts. (Another example of doing, to continue being.)

Why is it when I see ACME in a post about an ITR is see it up on roller skates with a sail on the roof, powered by an electric fan pushing the sail? With a big extension cord, of course.

I'm not sure, but apparently it is widely available.
I'm not sure, but apparently it is widely available.
Every now and then, I have a really good time autocrossing, and start to get a little deluded.
"I can make a 'go' at this", I think. "I can make a bigger committment to motorsport. I have some minor flexibility in my finances, and tracks aren't that far away.."
And usually, about that time, Scott will post something like this. Then, like the sympathetic vibrations of a tuning fork, something will resonate within me, and I will recall, "Oh yeah.. that's why."
James, who realizes (or perhaps is simply too willing to accept) his limits for now. Monetarily, I am 100% in Giles' camp.. Intellectually, I think I'm farther in Rinde's camp
... And I think that I would therefore merely be frustrated with trying to set up my tent anywhere on the plain..
