Default Short Shifter Question

We'll I just bought a Skunk2 shortshifter the other day and I went down to a local shop to ask if they will install this. They said they would install it and they were telling me that I should get bushings for it so it's tighter or something like that. They were $20. Is it necessary to get them?

i guess the bushings in the shift stabilizer wear out faster with a short shifter, i got some energy suspension polyurathane (i think polyurethane,i tossed the package already) ones off of ebay for $10 + shipping, the install was easy as hell (1/2 hr or so), but if they will install them for $20 parts and labor, might as well do it.

Stiffer bushing will make the shifting tighter. No, its not necessary, though you might prefer the feel.

It is not necessary, but it will give your shifting a notchier feel. I got the ES bushing from http://www.suspension.com for like $9 and shipping.

Its not necessary, I have the DC short shifter and using the stock bushings for like 3 years now and the shifts still feel tight and precise. Even if you decide to change the bushing a few years down the road, it is easy as hell to do.
