Default Hid 's in jdm eg headlights

Is there a way to convert hid's to fit in my jdm headlightl. I havnt seen a kit yet that makes an h4h headlight bulb or could i just use h4 bulbs.

check out the hid post ....Very informative. I think Catz make a h4 socket hid(plug and play). You can also retrot fit a hid projector to your jdm headlight to get a better cutoff. It's been done and there is a diy for it.

Edit: What the hey..i'll be nice here it is.

I don't think the JDM headlights would handle the HID's because of its weaker casing. Many people use projectors because the casing is tougher and can handle the heat. Something like this. I've never done it before so I can't tell you how it works.

I have seen people use their stock case but the output of the hid is so poor due to the glaring that doing the hid conversion is pointless without retrofiting projectors.

Do you think a housing designed to disperse light from a tungsten filament source is the prime candidate to disperse light from a xenon arc source?

It can be done I did it in my jdm eg headlights. It takes some fabrication to do it, you have seen how some ppl have used the stock h4 base ring well do that instead with a h4h ring take the ring off the stock lamp. No its not the best output, beam pattern isnt all that great.

This is all you need to know about putting HIDs into your JDM H4H housing, I have them in my car STILL after almost 2 years...works great, and the output beam is comparable to the stock beam including flare (which you know the JDM headlamps have a significant amt. of flare as is, due to no shields)...but its not blinding, cause its not the actual beam, just the flare. If you want perfect cutoffs, then you need a projector retrofit, which is more than twice the work as doing this and some people don't really want their car to "look" modified. The beam is still aimed, and not all over the place on my car. Here is my write up on my page:

and here's some pics:

Yep, they're JDM

cool so the beam pattern is a little better than stock but nothing to really get worked up about.

you could always buy the cheap projector headlights on ebay and throw hid's in them.. They are really not that bad, but work great with hid's

i put a kit into my oem housing.. there is some glare, but if aimed correctly it will not be annoying to other drives and will be like night and day compared to stock bulbs.

I just prefer to keep it looking stock, until I hit the lights, and its like...wtf HIDs??? Is that a JDM headlamp? How did he do that? Hehe, and best of all, its a Honda HID system, so its all in the family.
