Default Urgent Help Wanted: Type1 Racing 4-2-1 Header Collector

Hi!

My car is in for a check now, and I have a bad exhaustleak between the header and the testpipe. Pics of both parts underneath. I need a gasket, the rounded and "thick one" which goes over the collector and the into the testpipe. I believe this is supposed to be a little "flexible" due to engine vibrations.

Testpipe

Collector

Where do I get a gasket I can use? How large is the collectors OD?

Edit: Would either of these work?

I believe the one for a S2000 works. Also if you don't feel like spending the money on the S2000 on go to Advance or wherever and as for one for a Chevy V8 truck, this is what we did on my dad's DC JDM 4-1 and it worked fine after some trimming.

He's in Norway. I don't think they have Advance Auto Parts there

Best bet is to get the donut gasket for the AP1 (S2000).

Oh, and how do you like the Type-1 header? I know you haven't installed it yet, but how does the quality look on it? And how much did you pay?

The s2000 one will work

find out how much it is from your Honda dealer... and compare with how much it would be to get shipped from north america...

http://www.aj-racing.com has them also

I used an S2000 one on my Toda, fits perfectly. That has the same diameter collector as your T1R bling there too, so that should do the job. It'd be called a "collector donut" or something similar.

I have had the same header on my R for a bit now, and too love it. I have had to weld a crack that formed near the collector however.

Does Honda know your header has a 2.5" collector?

You need part # 18229 PCX 003 (S2000 donut gasket).

Don't bother telling the partslinger what it's for, they usually just get confused

<-- Bad memories of stupidly mentioning an Integra when buying a valve cover gasket at a Honda dealer
