you will need to wire up a 4 wire 02 sensor, wire up a knock sensor, repin the stock distributer harness match the 0bd1 dizzy. hook up the vtec wires, if you havnt already did so. wire up a toggle switch to check for codes. I think thats most of it, if I forgot something, im sure someone will mention it. goodluck

p28 doesn't look for a knock sensor. Don't worry about that.

Sorry to steal the thread, but I didn't want to make another one...it still stays on topic though! So does anyone know how to make an obd-2 d-series dizzy turn into obd-1? Asking because I want to obd-1 my d16a6 w/a d15b7 ecu (since the obd-1 dizzy's don't fit) for Hondata.

???? I have one on my A6 and I didn't have to mod it at all (besides the plug).
For the original question...you'll need an OBDI distributor, OBDI ECU, Jumper harness, and a 4 wire o2 sensor.

Yes. the 96+ D16Y8 are OBD-II. I installed a D16Y8 into my old car, and used the distributor from that engine. It is the same wiring as OBD-I; the only thing is, the plugs are different. So the answer is yes, you can use an OBD-II distributor with an OBD-I ECU.
