*HELP*
I can't get my oil filter off, Ive jacked the car up drained the oil and now I can't get the filter off, Theirs a bracket in my way or somthing, any of you have any suggestions....
If you have already tried the traditional filter wrenches (cap, strap, and clamp styles), the last resort for most people is to pierce it with a screwdriver and use that as a handle to get it off. This will create a mess, but it usually works.
You might try letting the car cool off - if it is warm it is usually harder to get off (metal expands when hot). You could also wrap some duct tape around the filter and use that for grip.
