Scorpion Pipes?
So the new V-Twin wants to breathe a little. When I was down picking up some gear the kind woman informed me that I should buy Scorpion when she saw me looking at pipes. I asked her why and she said because of the lifetime warranty. This is where I admit that my n00bosity has gotten the better of me. Before that night I had never heard of Scorpion but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. How do these stack up against the name I have heard, like Two Brothers and Yoshimura? Are these things the APC of pipes? Tried search a few other forums in addition to this one and couldn't get a straight answer of exhaust prefernece. Any help is much appreciated.
scorpions are fine; i don't think there are any "apc-esqe" pipes out there... the thing that makes me wonder is a lifetime warrenty; what could happen that would require one? obviously if the bike is dumped the the pipe mangled, they arent going to help....i had a 2 brothers cf s/o on my 03 sv, it sounded nice.

According to her they'll replace it regardless of reason. That's certainly a plus if it is in fact true.

ehhh, id ask them straight up first. doesn't sound practical... i.e. my bikes warrentied for a while but they aren't replacing cosmetic damage...

That is different...unless maybe Scorpion just wants people to see their pipes out on the street...almost like factory-cost advertising.
I've heard a sound clip of them online, and they sounded good I thought. Not quite Wolf, Two Brothers, D&D or Yoshimura good, but close.

d&d doesn't really have a sound, more like a drone...

Still one of my favorites, though. I like a rumble in the low range. I'm putting a dual-can on in the spring unless something comes along that makes me change my mind.
If I had the money, the full exhaust set from Wolf is one of if not the best sounds I've heard on an RR yet.

their 600rr slip is possibly the only thing i like. i'd definitly consider one if i can keep the header section of my full exhaust and dump the s/o section.

According to my research, it was Skorpion who changed their name, not Scorpion. Evidently there's a difference.

Yeah, I read that a few days ago. I suppose I should just buy one and be done with it.

Skorpion/Akrapovic is Slovenian. Scorpion is British I believe.

You'd better believe it. The last 4 vehicles I have owned (car, scooter, moped, bike) have all been yellow.
