who should pay for my car
well last night the building next to my house caught on fire. there where 40 diffrent fire stations here. well i live in the city and the building is like 4 feet away from my house so the fire fighters had hoses and stuff all over my car. my car was burried up to the glass with foam and there was like a foot of water. my car has scratches and dents and some water on the inside. the engine bay was full of foam from the ground to the hood. luckly the car runs but i want the body fixed, and i dont have full coverage on it so i don't know what to do. my roomates vw had a pice of plywood pulled from the second story of the building and land on his roof and cause $1,089 of damage done to it, he works at a colison center and had an estmate done today. so who do we go after?
Was it parked in the street? Cause some states insurance companys will not cover it unless it was on physical property. You may have to get the city to pay for it.

Yea, ok. So does paying 1/3 of what the cars shell is worth per year in insurance right?
Comprehensive "owns".

Maybe that is the way YOU look at it but I think it is very beneficial.

yes it was on the street, but in the city ppl very rarely whave of street parking, had full coverage but took it off cause i bought a bike and wasn't really driving my car. talked to my insurance agent he said he's not sure who's at fault, but called him today and he's on vacation till next tuesday. i thing the ppl who owned the buliding are at fault, but i need to be sure.
Comprehensive....I dont think you can (OR WOULD WANT TO) sue or go after a fire department for doing their jobs......if they werent there your car would have been toast. There's probably some legal stuff protecting FD's. Good luck, but hopefully you dont screw the guys protecting our cities.
