Default Honda CBR's...F4i and F4

I know the i means fuel injected right? Is it really as big deal? Are there any other drawbacks except for performance? I know the year diifference of course. 2002 is the year they started the f4i right?

F4 99-00, F4i 01-present

Drawbacks I personally think are just visual. Dual agressive headlights on the i vs. single one for the f4. Also the split seat on the i looks so much better than the F4s banana seat, IMO.

I'm glad i now have an F4i because the fuel injection will be handy in the winter, as well as for tuning, hooking up a power commander and you can dl maps from online. Also, remember aftermarket support is a lot more present for the F4i.

So other than adding performance and visual. No real downsides. Im not looking at doing anyhting performance wise to it, just maintenance...so it doesnt run worse, require more maintenance or anything like that?

When you start doing mods to the engine its easier to tune a FI bike with a power commander than it is to rejet the carb. Carb'd maintainence isnt bad. The carb'd bikes vs their FI counterparts make a little more power, very little but they do. I dont know why some people try to use this as a pro argument for carb'd bikes vs FI. Both are great bikes anyhow, can't really go wrong.

Supposedly a lot of the CCTs go out on them. I haven't had a problem yet but it's really common from what I've read. It's not too hard of a fix though.

There are some faqs and the cam chain tensioner (cct) is mentioned there.
