Just installed walbro 255lph pump, pressure is 20PSI?!?!
Hi guys
I just installed a walbro 255lph along with a new fuel filter and the pressure is stuck at 20 or thereabouts, I got 450cc DSM's, B&M FPR and SAFC set to -36 all the way accross. The car starts, stumbles then dies again..Ive tried priming it about four times prior to starting... I cant see any leaks...or smell any petrol... but the fuel pump makes one hell of a whirr...anyone got any idea's? anyone think I may of just flooded the engine? that still wouldnt explain the 20PSI. Im measuring this with the B&M gauge so i wont expect great accuracy but before when i had the old pump and fuel filter it measured about 40-45 just fine!?!?!?
Thanks in advance

i did the same thing with my b16 crx and had the same symptoms. ad more gas to the tank. when you fill the tank with gas you wont cant even tell thats its there.
squeezw the fuel return hose with pliers to block it off. if the pump is still making the exact or almost exact same noise it could be a leak in the hose between the pump and fuel line in the tank. i guess i could ask how much gas is in the tank? those pumps are noisey when the fuel is low (the fuel surrounding them muffles the sound)
you might also want to look into a better FPR....you most likely screwed up your FRP diaphram and it needs to be replaced. Also, with that large of a pump, they easily suck in air when fuel is low and that can greatly effect your fuel pressure
There is roughly 12 litres in the tank? I shall fill this up then give it another go
Thanks for the replies guys

Thanks for the replies guys
Is it worth jacking the front of the car up slightly to make the pump think its saturated in more fuel? Throughout the entire install of the pump the car was jacked up on the rear
