Default Just picked up a 95 Coupe...

well i picked this car up today.

has a clean title...had an ls motor that was hydrolocked...

came with a full set of vx wheels, a set of b-series axles, and has ls/ex front brakes...which is why the car has 14inch steelies up front.

here are a few pics...

covered in bird ****...

well i have a dx motor...

and this is where i'm faced with a few decisions.

i could bolt a vtec head on it (a friend has one he'll give me for 25.00)

find an ex transmission (a friend has a vx transmission for 25.00)

p28 ecu (125.00) or dx ecu (i have one)

i'm really not looking for a second car...just looking to turn around and sell it. so i'm thinking i may go the cheap route and just get it running for another 200-250 dollars...then sell it for 2k.

if i do the vtec head, ex transmission, p28 i'll want to get 2800 for it...which is a little bit harder to get since people seem to have a hard time coming up with money.

so i'm not really sure what i'm going to do...i have to give it some thought tonight although i'd like to bolt the motor in tomorrow.

i need the following to do that.

240cc injectors (friend has a set for free)
d-series engine mounts (have to find a set)
d-series clutch/flywheel (preferably used)
d-series axles (came with a set of b-series axles...so i may trade them and cash for d-series axles)
d-series shift linkage

and a few other misc things...although i should be able to get it back together and running with what i just mentioned.

all of my honda parts are sitting in my parents garage in connecticut...down here in florida i just have DSM parts....so i'm relying on friends and just buying parts which isn't as cheap.

So then it still has the hydrolocked motor in it?

no, LS motor was removed by the previous owner.

oh, and i purchased the shell for 300.00. i thought that was an OK price given the fact that it has a clean title. initially i offered him 200.00...but that didn't fly.

thats the thing...i'm thinking i'll just go with the dx motor to see how it runs...

then...once i get it running put the vtec head on it and jack the price up 300-400.

a friend of mine has an intake manifold, vtec head, and TB which would bolt on...so its really a very easy swap if i were to do it.

i'm just thinking about resale...and how much i spend now vs how much i'll get for it later.

just picked up a transmission, engine mounts, a flywheel, fuel line (from filter to fuel rail), engine hoist, engine stand and a few other odds/ends to get this project under way.

i still need a shift fork and some misc bolts...

should get the remaining parts tomorrow and have the motor together by thanksgiving...hopefully in the car by sunday and have it running by next week...

(i'm dreaming...its going to take 2 weeks or so...but its nice to be idealistic)

i knew the kid who had this car before and after he hydrolocked the ls motor.

he casually mentioned that he had ruined the ls motor and i just offered him money right away...plus he was in a bad position financially and was forced to look for another vehicle immediately as this was his daily driver.

i can't wait to clean the interior and then get this motor installed. i may even keep it for a daily driver...although it looks like i'll be selling it once everything is completed.

i still need a few parts...so if you're in the FLA area hit me up.

i need a dx distributor, 92-95 alternator for d-series, d-series axles and a few other minor odds/ends.

with the distributor and alternator i'll be able to get the car going...

I have a complete '92 Si drivetrain except I only have a p06 ecu. The car was totaled on the side, but it's still complete. Good running drivetrain. Make an offer if interested.
