I was wondering if there was any difference in performance between swapping a D15b vtec into my civic or would I get the same performance by swapping just the vtec head? Also would i have to get a new ecu and wiring harness fopr my 92 lx with either swap.

any sites with good deals on jdm parts would also be helpful, thanx.

 

dunno man..it depends on how u look at it....head and parts can easily run to 400+ and when u crack the head offu may run into probs when u put it all back together..over-heating, oil pressure probs, timing..blah blah.. not to mention the tranny which should be swich to completely benfit from the work, though its a good way to learn the internals of an engine and other related junk.
or just swap..may be easier if anything, and cheaper if u look around or got friends..got mine for 300 with 60k, tranny, ecu,and harness.. and oh ya..its 1.5 compared to 1.6

 

Where is the best place to find cheap jdm engines with everything attached?
ive looked online and the best deal i can find is 700 for everything w/out SH.
I was lookiing into getting just the engine and ecu since my tranny will work alright, but i cant find a place that will sell just the ecu to me.
