the speedglas helmets are the best on the market as far as technology goes
dont get me wrong the millers and others brands have awesome looking helmets with great lens but the miller elite with there lens setup is old technology as far as control materials and workmanship there helmets are made in china and the speedglas helmets are made in europe
the way that i looked at it is that if i was spending the money why not get the best of the best if your going to spend that kind of money to begin with you know
and especially its your eyesight that your dealing with too
my vote has to go with the speedglas as a recommendation

but if your just starting off get a $50 helmet to start off with and get the hang of welding and see if you enjoy it and if its something for you and then invest in a good helmet if you know you are going to be doing it often as a hobby or as a career
