Default Hasport mounts required for hasport linkage??

Do I need the Hasport B-series CRX swap mounts for the hasport linkage to work properly? Would it fit with the PR mounts and work right???

I am searching for the linkage b/c I have a ghetto cut/welded one and I have a feeling it is causing my 3rd gear grind.

TIA!

I used Hasport linkage w/ the HCP mounts before. It worked but, I always had 3rd gear trouble w/ trannies. I am not sure if it was linkage related or not?

B16CRXT;

First off, there is no reason to yell!

The reason that you are not getting a lot of responses with this is that it's really hard to give a valid answer.

All of the different mount manufactures place the engine/transmission combination a little differently and I've never seen any posted table that gives all the different locations. As an example, I know that the Place Racing (now out of business) mounts place a B motor more towards the front of the car than the Hasport mounts. As a result, unless you have a mount kit that places the engine in exactly the same location as the Hasport mounts, then the Hasport linkage wouldn't work "EXACTLY" as intended by Hasport.

All that said; if you post what mounts you did use, then somebody on this board may be able to say if it's close to locating the engine as the Hasport mounts do, and the linkage would work reasonably.

All this may be a wasted amount of text and you should figure out if the linkage that you already have manages to put the transmission in third or not. Can you put it in gear while sitting at rest? (engine off, clutch depressed) You may find that it's really a matter of third gear syncro's being tired.

I didnt mean fot that to come off as yelling. sorry. I meant for it to restate my question and to grab attention Looks like it worked

I have been thinking about getting some HCP mounts. From what I have seen/heard they sit the motor in about the same spot as the hasport mounts.

My current linkage was cut and welded back together. That's why I belive it may be a problem with that. I have problems speed shifting...grinds in 3rd above 4.5K rpm, tehre is an extra bump I have to go through in order to get it into gear in all gears except 5th...its fairly smooth. I am going to be buying some gear speed synchros soon and hopefully that will help. I might even try that GM syncromesh. I just erally want to know if anyone has the hasport linkage with their PR mounts. Fitment issues etc.?

Thanks for the responses guys!
