94 accord ex sedan auto, lacking power HELP!!
ok... well as you all know or some of you know i'm new to the honda world!!
i picked up my 94 accord ex sedan auto about 3 weeks ago. Its also a non v-tec as far as i know, all it says on the engine is "H 16 valve" i'm used to driving v6's and v8's, i had a 4cyl last year and that car had power, but im more used to bigger engines bigger cars aka power etc. lol
when i get behind the wheel of my 94 accord ex it has some power but i think it should have more, i mean my car couldn't spin on ice if i tried haha
i know my car isn't no race machine, i just think it should have more power then im getting out of it?! maybe not?! i don't know someone help me please haha
i recently installed a vibrant performence intake on my car!!
is there anything else i could do to my accord that won't put to big of a dent in my wallet?! haha
thanks

I mean the title you sign over when buying/selling a car. The one you take to the DMV and register for a new one and then they send you new one in the mail. It should have model (DX, LX, EX) listed and I know it has you VIN on it. Otherwise, look on the top of the dashboard on the drivers side right by the windshield. Do this from the outside of the car. You should see a plate that has been rivited to the dash. That is your VIN. Your VIN will help identify what model you bought. Just remember, if you post it on here for help, don't post the last 6 or 8 digits, that is not needed and it only helps thieves.

I can't find the list deffining what each set of letters/numbers means right now. I have it saved at home. I'll check it when I get home from work.
I had a 95 Accord EX Sedan and it was a CD5 but it had a 2.2L VTEC and moonroof. I know the EX's are supposed to come with the moonroof and VTEC. But I'll check what the 638 in your VIN means when I get home.
edit:
Does yours have rear drum or rear disc brakes?

then you deffinately have a LX or DX, sorry. It sucks that someone would do that. I don't know the defferance between the LX and DX models to help you find out which of those two you have but other on here might be able to give you the defferance between the LX and DX models. Then you will know exactly what model Accord you have.
ok thanks
but is there a difference between american\canadian accord ex's?!
mine is a canadian verison, but it says made in japan under the hood!!
ok tell me if i got ripped off then...
i supposedly bought a 1994 honda accord ex 4 door sedan automatic
when i bought it, it had 115,000kms\72,000miles, its in excellent condition, the old man had it serviced everytime it was due, he had the trans fluid drained and replaced at 100,000kms\62,000miles along with the AC recharged!!
the cars like in mint shape except for a couple minor chips and dings that all cars are gonna have, nothing major!! i'm not sure if he had the timing belt replaced or not?! the car also came with a 6000kms\3800mile power train warrenty
what would you pay for a used car like that?!

Well since it's a Canadian accord you probably didn't get ripped off. Canadian accords have different model designations.
The Canadian EX model is equivalent to the U.S. LX model. That explains the drum brakes, lack of VTEC and sunroof.
The Canadian EX-R model is equivalent to the U.S. EX model which has VTEC, disc brakes in the rear and a sunroof.

Ok, it's makes sence now. As soon as he said Canadian, I thought that was equivalent to the U.S. LX.
Ok, so you didn't get ripped off. Thats good to know, huh?

wow canadian accords suck, i just got new tires and i still spin my tires in my 90 accord lx(125hp) whenever i try to start, granted mine is a stick with no sucky torque converter(thats prolly why you cant spin your tires, not enough thorque) but still if you really want to spin your tires, go get some bald tires, theyspin everytime
otherwise, be happy with what you have
otherwise, be happy with what you have
For the record Canadian accords are identical to U.S. accords except the model designation. So your basically saying all accords suck.
haha the engine is loud!!!!, thats one thing i noticed, i said man the engine is wicked loud for a 4 cyl and since i put my intake on its really loud haha, i love the sound of a intake though!!
how do i go about checking the compression of the engine?!
thanks
