you can run any b-series cable tranny or you can run a hydro tranny if u get da cable to hydro conversion from hasport. i would recommend a b16 cable tranny if your on a budget like me. but the ls tranny thats already in your car will work. i have a 92 teg wit a b20b runnin on my stock ls tranny right now. hoping to upgrade to b16 tranny
just confirming, any b series cable will work.

They are stronger, but they are also more expensive. So I don't know if that actually makes it better.
