RPM guage problem!!!!

I have D16a6 and runs just fine but when i pass 4k rpms the rpm niddle go back and foward but the car still runs good.I wanted know how i can fix that?Thanx.

wait what so it bounces? is this a stock or aftermarket tach?

could be your distributor this is a problem d series motors have when they are high reved constantly.

the engine revs normal to 6.5k but the tach needles jumps all over?

ignitor is going out.. replace
