Default GSR with stock IM and CTR cams or BC3+

I bought a s2 intake manifold for my GSR but have not installed it. I will be installing CTR cams, 4-2-1 header with 2.5 collector and Intake. The car will be tuned with hondata or uberdata. This is my daily driver and i want to have usable power and keep my midrange. I am looking for first hand experience of anyone using CTR/BC3+ cams with the stock intake manifold and your opinions.

skunk 2 and mid-range do not co-exist! Port the stock IM.

I have bc3+ on with a stock 1st gen b16 manifold and the midrange between that and the stock cams is night and day.

I wouldn't be as quick to say that S2 manifold is junk. I've seen people make power with them and seen others who didn't. It all depends on your specific setup and the tuning. I have however seen alot more success with using ported GSR manifolds. The mid range numbers seem to stay a bit higher with GSR's. Not trying to get flamed just trying to help out.

The power you see being made on those skunk 2's is all peak power. Very deceiving. Most of the time, you lose about 10 lb-ft of torque in the mid and gain a litte on the top.

don't know if you lose anything with the s2 manifold. you may lose a little midrange as stated. i have one and i think its working out just fine. i didn't think my gsr motor had really good midrange. it could have been cause of the s2 manifold, don't know. it does have good top end. if the s2 manifold does take a little away from the midrange power, installing by CTR intake cam gave it back plus some.
