Default Transmissions that work in the ITR ?

I am looking to replace my tranny and wanted to know which ones will work in our ITRs.

I have access to an Y21 out of a 94 USDM DOHC Vetec DelSol. It is an hydraulic type with the same gear ratios as my 97 ITR tranny. It doesn't have an LSD but shouldn't my LSD work with it ? What other trannys will also work .... I also can get an 95 Integra LS tranny S80 but it has different gear ratios.

Did you blow your tranny?

I would never put an LS tranny on there...that is by far the worst Integra tranny. Any b-series tranny will work fine.

my 5th and reverse are messed up, and the syncros are messing up.
I had heard the LS tranny was a good highway tranny due to the gear ratio ?

Like I mentioned in the PM I sent you...the LS tranny is a complete dog.

The *only* advantage I could see to the LS tranny and it's insanely long gearing is on a high horsepower car where traction is an issue. It may help alleviate some tire spin due to a lower torque multiplication to the ground.

Look into a 99-01 SI tranny if you want to save some money. They are a bit cheaper than ITR trannies but they have the same gear ratios.

I hate to say it, but anything but an ITR tranny on your ride is a huge step down IMO.

Like Justin K. said, the EM1 Si tranny is pretty much identical to the ITR's (gearing wise) minus the LSD. But it seems like the price of a used Si tranny wouldn't be any cheaper than getting your current tranny repaired/rebuilt.

that would be my preference if I could find one at a good price.

The DelSol tranny you have access to will fit and work.

The LSD will not drop right in and will necessitate using your DC2 ring gear (final gear)

The diff carrier bearings will have to be changed, and the shim clearances should be checked.

I can't remember if the carrier bearings only fit the GS-R/ITR casing though. Once you have it apart, it should be evident.

I did and it seemed to still be messed up, but now it is getting better.
Maybe it just needed so use after the new gear and syncro ?
