Rear speaker install?
hey, have any of y'all installeld rear speakers in your integra? i popped off the little speaker cover on the back seat but it's too small to get the speaker out of, am i missing something here? or do i need to take the entire rear panel off? all help would be greatly appreciated.
yes the panel needs to come off..no biggie..after you remove the rear panel..and all the bolts..just work your way foward..it will just pop right off...
good luck!
good luck!
Actually you don't have to take the panels off. I was able to get my 6 1/2 two ways in there without having to go through the drama. Just take your time and get the right angle and they go in.
thanks guys, guess i'll have to mess around with it a lil moer, i cracked the panel already by the b pillar, not noticble though, oh well
?,, can you put 6x9's in there? someone said you could, but some people say you can't..... i know there isn't that size in there from the factory... let me know thanks.

damn, I'm glad this thread was created. Now for the front doors. I have Boston Rallys to go in there, but the magnet on the back is too big. The dinky *** stock speakers (that was blown in like 2 weeks) have small magnets and are easy to take out, but do you have to cut the metal support out to make bigger magnet speakers fit?
what you can do is take a dremel and cut the backing of the basket out, will give you more room to fit tihe speaker in, just make sure you keep the part where the speaker is drilled in there.
Yep, the rear panels do not have to come off. The installation was a pain though and the biggest speakers that can fit are 6 1/2 I believe. Basically, once you take out the grill, you'll want to take out the stock speakers and then cut out a big portion of the foam enclosure around the speaker. I have no idea why it's there, but once taken out, you have plenty of room to put the speakers in. Good luck!
Does anyone know if you really can put 6x9's back there?
Removing the rear panels is not as hard as everybody thinks...start by removing the rear seats, then remove the rear panel in the hatch area, and then starting from the rear hatch, remove all the clips and bolt and big side rear panels should just *pop* off. If you do install the rear speakers yourself, please solder the connections so you don't have to do it again EVER.
I installed a set of RF components in the rear with an external crossover...I mounted the tweeters on the foam that is beside the plastic speaker housing.
