Default Conservative riding /= winning against a murcielago

So I've been trying to ride very conservatively for the first month. Nothing stupid, no speed, just enjoy actual riding. I took the MSF course and loved it and I know that NOW is the time to cement good habits. This also means that I haven't used the upper rev range 10k plus except very sporatically.
So, I know this might belong in Kills, but I see it not for the race but for the experience.

I'm riding home from work at 1:30AM and I work as a valet so I've seen just about every taillight imaginable. I come up to this car that lookes like a corvette or an NSX without the wing LEDs. Its SO wide and SO low. No idea. I come up to the menacing "Lamborghini" on the back of the no-plate, athracyte-grey beast.

See, I just wanted to watch, admire and go on my merry way. I slow down to his 45 mph (speed limit 60) and just look. He waves me on but I just shake my head and give a shaky-flat hand "no thanks." So I get my fill and I start to leave and he jumps on me.
I'm like wha. Just in case, I go down to 4th. I start slowly speeding up and he's right there with me. In my head I'm thing, "No races, you've never even shifted fast above 10k." But on the other hand, If he nudged me and I backed down, I'd regret it forever.

Long story short, I gave in. punched it at like 60 in fourth and only gained about 6 feet by the end of the gear where I promptly didn't throw the shifter far enough, free-reved in 4th as I see him fly ahead. I tried.

Caught back up to him and started laughing at my self, he could see my shoulders and I made the "well I dunno" gesture. So no bad feelings. Hope he doesn't feel like I wasted his time.

I thought at first it had been a gallardo, but I looked it up when I got home. The R6 killed by the bat.................and too long a throw to shift.

Boo!!

I can't recommend drag racing on public streets. Its pretty hard to keep the front end down on stop light launches. And when you've hit like over 100mph and some car was to pull out in front of you... well... its freakin scarey trying to panic break a bike.

I've endoed to a stop a couple of times because once... a car pulled out in front of me... and another, I was practicing wheelies and I ran out of room in the parking lot so I endoed out of the lot, down the driveway, and half way into the street. Luckily God was on my side.

Remember, most bikes don't have ABS, airbags, or crumple zones. Its just you, a plastic helmet, and some foam. Oh and 1.2~1.4mm of genuine cowhide.
