Default TL Wheels On 5th gen accord

hoow would tl type-s 2001-2003 wheels look on a 5th gen accord...does anyone have any pictures of these wheels on this car..i have a 4 door black ex...i love the stock look of my girls 2003 black tl..

my plan...

1. 5 lug conversion

2. type r accord front lip

3. tl side skirts (i will have to modify them a little)

4. tl rear bumper lip ( will have to be modified as well)

5. honda center caps

6. tl 17x8 polished rims

what is the offset for these wheels and will it match the offset for the conversion on the accord...im doing the conversion using acura legend rotors. everywhere i look gives a different offset for these wheels..i even tried the acyra website, ebay, and accordinglydone.com

thanks

mario

damn dude you might as well buy a TL
that seems like a lot of work to get those wheels, i agree they do look pretty good, but im sure you can find some that look similar in a 4x114.3 bolt pattern

good luck getting 17x8 wheels to clear well under a 5th gen accord, you are gonna need to use a wierd sized tire

Normal accord wheels are what, 15x6.5?

You'd need wicked offset or a widebody kit. And extended wheel studs.

Nope, 7.5 is the widest you can go on a 5th gen. without modification

so all i have to worry about is the fenders....evil nick told me that i may have to roll the fenders in so the tire wont rub. im not lowering my car much..i want to lower it about .75 inch just because im putting side skirts and front lip and dont wanna worry about speed bumps.

if i dont lower my car...will these rims fit?...

No. The problem is not the fenders but the arms. I've got 7.5's on mine and the arm in the rear is about 1mm away from the tire.

95 accord ex...perfect camber. grinded rear fender well and rolled front fender. Still have the stock plastic lining up front too...most people lose them or take it out.

so guys....since sinister2c was able to fit 19x8's and didnt have a problem with the knuckle arm or any of the arms..why would 17x8's with 42mm offset be a problem? all im trying to do i make sure these will fit before i buythem from my friend..thanks

I think your car will look like **** if you stick 17" wheels on a 5th gen with only a .75 inch drop. You will be the 4x4 laughing stock of your community!

There's a good possibility that the gap will be the same as before the drop - depending on what wheels/tyres you have on at the moment.

Seems alot of work just for a set of factory wheels off of another model car.

Save the money from doing a 5 lug conversion and TL wheels and spend it on a proper drop and some nice wheels that are 4x1414.3, a kit if you choose. I think you will be much happier.

thats not what im asking please read the thread carefully...im asking will they fit with no rub on the arms...i really dont care what your preference is for rims or lowering setups...i have a reason for doing this.....i plan on adding a fron lip and side skirts and dont want to go through the trouble of a rough ride. The fenders will sit right above the tire and with a front lip and side skirts it will look lower than it actually is. I also plan on bolting on a turbo once i get all the information on this procedure and i dont want anything bigger than 17 for rims...

With 17's and a .75 inch drop your gap will still be close to stock between the tire and the fender - it won't decrease - if it does then not by much.

If you are on 15's now I assume your tires are 195/60/15 - if you go to a 17 your tire size will most likely be 215/45/17.

Skirts won't "really" make the car look lower as you will still have the large gap between the tire and fender.

Your ride will be harder than stock when you go to 17's as your tire profile decreases.

Just seems like alot of work for....

Raz

I say do it. Try it out.

The rim size will not affect how it looks ultimately as long as you get a good tire A/R to match it, and if you are doing the 5 lug conversion the right way, the clearance will not be a problem after you roll the fender a bit.

Snap of some pics when you are done, and I am sure that a bunch of the people hating on it will be the first to jump on the bandwagon. I would like to get an 8 inch rim behind some wide rubber just for the handling factor.

GL.

this guy put 19x8's and he didnt need any spacers..and he also says he has a 42mm offset..all the mods he made were to the wheel well and the fenders and thats because he slammed his car...you can check out his pic in the accord picture thread...im going to give it a try...ill post pics soon
