Default how much would it be to paint my 1996 accord coupe it doesn't have many dings or dents its orginally

the car doesn't have many dings or dents its orginally has the heater mist color but i was thinking that i would like to paint it black or maybe just keep it the heather mist color and just strip the pine strip of and add a little pearl in it. if someone could just give me some ideas about the cost and what i would need to do. i would like to do as much as i can to limit that cost such as prip work and stuff thanks.

anywhere from 400-2000 depending on what you do and what you want done to the car.

Good PPG base coat/clear coat materials could run you 1k to paint the whole car from scratch. Oh, and adding a pearl to stock paint....it's already cleared, so I doubt it would look right, or even adhere properly.

You really get what you pay for in this case..... In other words, don't go to Macco.

ya and i really really would not go macco. they really suck, because after it gets painted, you would need to get it all buffed out for all the imperfections

prep work is part of the paint job.

if you looking for a near oem paint job with engine bay, trunk, door jam, hood painted expect around 3000-3500.

extra for color change(almost 100percent of the time), of course more if you have rust, etc

pearl cost a grip too

There is no way to just sand through the clear to scuff up the paint and add pearl. If you want a new paint job, prep "is" everything. Oh, and Macco uses really crummy materials, you mine as well smear dog crap all over the stock paint if you're gonna go there. If you want the door jams, and other stuff repainted there is more prep, so....more dough.

Why pearl? If you want a really nice paintjob, you have to sand the whole car down to bare sheetmetal, use a rust inhibitor, a good primer, and a proven paint and clear coat combination formulated to work together. I've painted more than one car, you cannot cut corners and get quality results.......
