Default crx w/b18a problems

Well, I installed my B18A into my 89 CRX Si today. Everything went well except for when it was time to start, it didn't.
At first the PR4 was not throwing any codes and the car wasn't starting. I checked for spark and I wasn't getting any spark the first couple of times I checked, then I checked again and I got spark once. I tried again and no spark. Brand new rotor, cap, plugs, and wires. Fuel pressure is at 40 psi.
After trying to start it again, I got a CEL and the light was constantly, which is the code for bad ECU, it never went away.
I replaced it with my stock PM6 and same code. Also when the car is at the on position, my main relay clicks once, and when i try to crank it it keeps clicking.. is this normal?

Any ideas or advise is greatly appreciated..TIA

if it is trying to start and you have no spark or was intermitten i would check the ignition coil. see if anyone has one that you can swap out to test it or if you have the money go buy one.

check the ground wire on the thermostat. if that wire is loose/off it will throw a "bad ecu" type code.
