Dyno Day Revenge
Hey guys,
After having a disappointing dyno days the last couple of times I ran on the dyno (see this thread -> https://honda-tech.com/zero...97283) and after blowing the motor on the track last month, I finally was able to hit the dyno after install the JDM motor. I did a couple of changes while I had the motor out to work on. That included UR pulley set, OBD1 ECU, removed balancer belt, and shimmed oil pressure valve by 2mm. This is on top of the existing mods I already had of course but rather that posting what they are again, you can view the complete list here -> http://www.stlpreludeclub.com/rides_keith.html.
I was hoping to get my VAFC installed before dyno day today but I kept getting a CEL code 21 (VTEC solenoid) after I installed it. I double and tripled checked my work (resoldering and soldering connections) till I gave up and just removed it which then the CEL code went away).
Anyhow...
Here how my run looked...

For jokes, the shop we had the dyno day at, had a JDM P13 ECU with a Mugen programmed on it... I was shocked at the numbers!

There is still room for improvement after I figure out what is going on with my VAFC issue. You can see that the ECU is still running rich and I would like to bring that line above 13. Overall, I'm happy with the the motor swap and I feel relieved that I finally got numbers that I am happy with again...

mmm decent numbers...i put down 178 whp with just bolt ons and a vafc II on a usdm motor...id reccomend you add a testpipe of hf cat to free up a few more horses then if you decide to reinstall the vafc get tuned...you should be mid 180s
