Integra with H-series engine?
I was looking through an issue of Import Tuner Magazine and looking at a parts comparison for an integra. And under the heading: COMMON SWAPS, it said B-series and H-series engines! I have never seen an Integra with and H22 or H23. Those are the only H-series engines I know of. Will an H22 even fit in that engine bay? Even with extensive fabrication?
The Integra is based on the Civic, they have many identical specs. They both have B series engines. Just like a H22 can go into a Civic, it can also go into an Integra. Car companies standardize a lot of stuff. Saves them a ton is manufacturing stuff and they don't have to retool anything.
hey 4door whats yor 1/4 times w/ that setup? also hows the handling? h22 in an integra makes it front heavy; was wondering if its the same for accords.
No timeslips yet. I don't particularly like drag racing, but I'd love to hit the 1/4 for some times. The motor feels super strong. I'd estimate mid-low 14s based on how I pull away from high 14 second cars (I also hang with Mustang Cobras and M3s on the straits). It ran 169.9 WHP on the dyno so far. It had 5,021 miles on it when I got it, and I've put about 4K miles on it so far, so it's barely broken in.
Yeah, the H22 is too big for the Civic and Integra, but it's just right for the Accord. Outside of the US the Accord is available with the H22. It's not too much heavier than the Accord's stock F22.

Isnt the difference between the F22 and H22 about 45-50lbs? Its not like pulling out a SOHC d15 and dropping in an H22. It doesnt upset the handling at all.

The fit is so tight accessories such as power steering and A/C must be removed. But since it's probably going to be a race car, such things don't matter. These hybrids also only use 3 of the H22s 4 engine mounts.
plus since the mounts are solid polyurethane the fourth is basically negledgable(sp?) but i digress this is a project i will soon be embarking upon
