Default did a compression test and cylinder #1 has no compression the rest have 220

like topic states cylinder #1 has zero compression the rest have 220. what do u think is the problem i looked thru the spark plug hole and the piston looks fine and it moves up and down if i rotate the motor. i'm guessing its either the rings are completely shot or its the valves seals. but i have never seen a motor with zero compression in a cylinder. o and it barely runs spitting out a gang of black smoke

If it's zero compression, you more than likely lost a valve.

I had no compression in a cylinder once and it was a burnt exhaust valve. Really it's the only logical explanation. You probably did not burn a hole in the piston, and the chances of your rings being 100% gone is slim to none, and intake valves don't usually burn unless the lash is too tight.

i had 0 compression in my number four cylinder and my valves were fine. i melted a piston though. it could be detonation, but as they said, chances are its your valve.

Yup, but he's n/a so there's a much smaller chance that he detonated enough to melt a piston. My vote's still on an exhaust valve.

with a 12:1 n/a compression there is a really good chance of detonation..
