i am looking for get one, just have some question. first, how do you find out it is a vetc or si? does it says on engine!! thanks for help!!

Yah man, it'll say it on the engine! First on the block, it should either read h22a(1) OR H23, if it's a non vtec... unless the car is an h23/vtec! Secondly, it should say VTAK on the valve cover! hahahaha

 

test drive it also and you should be able to tell

 

yep, says DOHC VTEC on valve cover and oil cap is usually closest to firewall passenger side.

 

You should also look at the tach, if it's redline is not 7500 and doesn't say "Dohc Vtec" on the valve cover, likly it's not.
