No Fast Idle - Changed EACV, no diff
Ok, I started by checking the shop manual and it said to check the EACV if there is no fast idle. I replaced it with a spare one I had and there is no change.
I keep reading about a fast idle control valve, but cant find any actual info on it.
Where the hell is it on here, and how can I fix my fast idle

I suspect it's number 3, but I cant see how it would adjust the idle based on the engine temp, since there is only a vacume line running to it.
And no, I cant simply unplug it, I need a fast idle here, it gets too cold...and this is my winter car.

Common, I need to start it
Update:
I've noticed that my EACV has a yellow-black and orange connector. The manual talks about a yellow-black and blue connector. Sure enough, the orange wire isnt plugged into the ECU at the EACV terminal for some reason, so I ran another wire from the ecu's terminal to the eacv and nothing changed. Also, when I gave 12V to the eacv while the engine was running, it stalled allmost instantly.

Im trying to remember how the FITV is on stock crx's. Its on the bottom of the TB on obd1 engines...except the LS. Its on the side of the side of the IM on the LS. Wherever it is there should be a coolant line that runs from it to the IACV. I wish i could help more but like i said i cant remember how they are on stock crx's...which im guessing you have. What engine do you have in it?
Really???
NICE!!!!
Thanks sooo much for the info.
******* connector fits right on. I wonder where the IACV connector is then :s
Yeah, the car is an 89 Dx, installed a 90 Si engine in it, so its OBD0
There is one roundinsh looking thing at the end of the IM (opposite from the TB - Number 9 in the picture), it has a connector and cooling line running to it, but I cant find any refference in the shop manual to it causing a bad fast idle

#9 is the fast idle valve, only on 89-91 Si motors. thats a VAC line running to it, not a coolant line. you can leave it on there it has no effect on the motor.
look around for the IACV plug cuz u might have the tandem one on there.
you can test the iacv out of the car using a 9v battery and two wires

You could have possibly cut the wrong plug... the iacv is green on a dx, and needs to be extended several inches. The tandem valve is not used in a mpfi engine setup.

PS
Red/Yellow and Green/White wires are IAT sensor
Blue/Yellow and Black/Yellow wires are EACV

Yeah, thanks. I did cut the wrong ones....its gonna be a blast finding the ******* wires
I've tested this EACV and it clicks when it gets 12V.
Thanks for the info about the fast idle control valve beeing number 9. So I assume its the culprit for the bad fast idle then. Why the heck isnt it mentionned in the Helms??? The helms says to check the EACV not that thing
Anyone care to enlighten me as to what the EACV does
According to the helms it controls the fast idle. But since I have a FITV, I assume it controls something else.
Odd that I'm not pulling any codes about the IACV though.

EACV wires are blue with yellow stripe and black with yellow stripe - Tandem Control Valve wires are orange and black with yelow stripe - Fast Idle Control Valve wires are solid blue and black with yellow stripe
forget the Fast Idle Control Valve - it just increases idle slightly when ambient air temp is below -10C (14F) - it acts like a small vacuum leak - it is on the back of the intake manifold on the driver's side - only on 89-91 Si (not 88) - if you want to hook it up, find the blue and yellow/black wires and connect it (along with vacuum)
