Which swaybar?? Help me make an informed source!1
The car - 00cx
motor - b18
current suspension - apex'i n1 - 99 spec.
tires - will be falken azenis
desired driving - small puts around as daily driver - weekend track car (vir, summit point, etc..)
rear bar - comptech 22mm
My choices for front bar are the Suspension Techniques 15/16ths, Progress 25mm, or perhaps find a SI front setup including the arms and shock forks.. Does anyone have experience with any of these setups, or could perhaps give me some advice on running one of them?? As most of my local tracks are of the higher speed varity - I would hate to have a car that gets a little too squirly.. Thanks

This i know - but a Si with the stock front bar and the comptech rear 22mm drives perfect for me - I had the chance to drive one fairly hard and it is almost perfectly balanced. The stock Si setup pushes.. My wheelbase is the same as the Si, so the 26/22mm would probably feel right around the same in my hatch. My real concerns are the way that the other two swaybars are mounted, as that can also change the "virtual thickness" of the bar, as well as quality of product..

I would get the stock SI bar for the simple fact that it was made to go into a civic. sure you have to get the other parts but, do you really want to risk (espically on the track at high speeds) loosing/ripping a bracket?
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

leave the stock front bar, you don't need anything bigger than what you have. some guys don't even run a front bar at all......personally, i run a stock 21mm up front with a mugen 26mm out back.
a '00 CX ain't got no front bar (or rear bar, for that matter). With a Comptech rear, no front bar will be a handfull on the track. There is a reason the higher performance models come with the bars from the factory.

The average joe might wreck the **** out of his car while "rodding" around with a thicker rear bar and no/smaller front bar.

I understand, but there's also a reason why companies make these bigger rear bars. somebody's buying them and using them, right?
I'm no swaybar expert, but I do know that if somebody practices enough and gets a lot of seat time with a particular set-up that they might really enjoy it. Such as a big rear bar and no front bar.

Gotcha...all I'm saying is that in my experience, the car becomes sloppy with no front bar and a Comptech 22mm out back. I've tried it.
I'm running the Si bar upfront on my 97 hatch, and I love it! The comptech rear bar looks sweet, but not $369 sweet
i had just the 22mm rear bar, and by adding the si front 26mm bar, it helped out so much. for the average joe, they give the si the 13mm rear bar so he doesnt go swinging his back end around trying to make that left turn when the light just turned yellow. 26mm front and 22mm rear is a good combo.
I agree, for MOST people a front bar is a must when having a thick *** rear bar. I plan to run my stock 22mm front with the 19mm ST bar next year for auto-x. I think it will balance nice.
I like the design of the Comptech piece - it incorporates a chassy brace along with the mounts for the swaybar. This could help prevent any subframe stretching on the EG-style Civics.
I see a lot of VW guys just take their front bars off and 3-wheel around the auto-x courses and SPANK a lot of *** like that. Is it totally different for us with Hondas?
