You said cams, and with 17 posts people might not know how much you know about this stuff man - okay?
Gears are pretty much gears - you will pay for name and looks, but they all pretty much function the same.

Get the Toda's. They use the factory gear with an adjustable plate over it for better quality/accuracy. Also use factory gear: Spoon, HKS, JUN.

I think the best cam gears right now are Skunk 2, because of the weight and the ease of "tuning" them.
The AEM are rocks, and even bran new, you can easily strip one of the bolts on the first turn.
The skunk 2, it is REALLY hard to strip them...they go on and off with EASE.
You want to choose the brand that is the lightest. Skunk 2 is light.

Toda gears are too much of a pain to read.
I know, yeah, yeah.. i KNOW how to read them.. but I've used AEM for like 4-5 years. I replace the stock AEM bolts with hardened steel 1/4" hex bolts. Never stripped and never came loose. Easy as hell to read, too..

Sure, but when I am using a degree wheel, what the cam gears say means
absolutely nothing. Im just reading the dial indicator. But when I am on the
dyno or at the track tuning the car, i want to make quick adjustments, toda
gears are too hard to read.
Skunk2 get my vote for best cam gear.

do i have to be specific when a question is asked obviously cam gears
toda, aem cams?
BTW, Skunk2 gets my vote too.
unfortunately not all cam gears are all the same as was alluded to by B18C5-EH2. AKH has reported that AEM cam gears have been known to slip with Spoon and Toda Spec B and C cams. The bigger VTEC lobe on the Toda B's place a big load onto the cam gear as it turns. We confirmed this whenwe degreed the cams and the crank was hard to rotate when you hit the maximum lift on the lobe even with the spark plugs removed. The 4 bolt (or more) cam gears seem to spread the loading out more evenly. We had to slot my timing belt tensioner pulley to prevent the belt from jumping 2 teeth with the 3 bolt (old allen key bolts at that) AEM cam gears. Obviously billet aluminum is lighter and the degree markings should be laser etched on accurately. The early Skunk2 cam gears had a 2 degree error on their markings which were subsequently corrected. Painted on degree markings are just wrong since they wear off over time. So, not all adjustable cam gears are created equal.

Pretty much, when dealing with cam gears...they all don't slip if you install them correctly...and today...all of the ones I know of are accurate.
So it comes down to 1 thing...
whats the lightest cam gear out there? Cause thats the best.
Skunk 2 anyone?

I would say the TODA one is the better of the two. I see that you are in Edmonton. May I ask you who will do the install for you or are you doing it yourself? But whereever you go, make sure you won't goto Silverstone to install it!! They install my Toda cam and cam gear and it BROKE!!
Anyways, make sure the guy who tune it for you know how to read the Toda cam gear if you decide to get it.

No, it broke at where the cam gear connected to the intake cam!!
The guess is that they over or under tighten the cam bolt!!
I have some picture, but I am not able to post it here now. If you want, I can't email them to you!!
