5G ECU Questions
Hey gang - I'm trying to help a buddy out.
The code for the JDM Type-S ECU is P5P. What is the code for the ECU used in USDM Type SH?
Does the P5P have a higher rev limit than the ECU used in the USDM Type SH?
Is using a P5P ECU in a USDM Type SH a "plug and play" operation?
Thanks
Clayton

If my memory serves me correctly (which you may want to double check my info) I think the JDM ECU's had a fuel cutoff at a certain speed. Didn't they?
Yes, JDM ECU's have a speed limiter. It can be fooled by tricking out the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor).
I'm sure there are others, but I have heard of two people who have used the Type-S or S-Spec ECU on the USDM Prelude. One of them was the dreaded Nam D. Vo. It was a plug and play affair, but you need to get the immobilzer re-programmed.
