valve seals 1994 civic

Default valve seals 1994 civic

how offton do they do out? i bought a civic for 1000$. took the head off i am going to replace the rings. but when i got the head off, i looked in the intake mani and there was oil everywhere. what does that mean? is it still the rings or do i have other problems. thanks

motor is a d15 1994 dx

oily coating in the intake mani is pretty normal. air that is pulled out thru the valve cover and pvc valve has oil vapor in it and it accumulates on the walls of intake mani. just take it off and clean it with tb/carb cleaner.
