i found a type r for salethat im thinkin of purchasing it has a b20 block in. i was wondering if it would be a bad investment. j/w wondering b/c i dont know much about internals myself-thanx

Personally I wouldn't buy an ITR w/o a B18C5. Well maybe if it was a salvage title or something and I wasn't paying a lot.

 

depends where the motor came from and what happened to the original c5?

im not payin that much ...12,500...he said that the head studs were striped on the c5 block and aguy that works with him at the honda dealership sold him the block and the dealership put it in ?

Sounds like BS to me...

A stock B20 or a built B20? A B20 isn't going to last past the stock redline (~6500 I think?) ITR head makes most of it's power +5500, so if it's stock, do you want to pay 12,500 for a car "built" slower than it was from the factory?

 

$12500 is too much IMO

 

12,500 IMHO is way way too much and I doubt it has a clean title too.

 

RIP OFF......i sold my type r for 18,000 ...... it was mint , 2001 model with only 50,000kms...

 

i didnt think it was that much of a rip off...how much do yall think its really worth then?

12,500. Wow. Is it on eBay? I just bought mine on ebay for $10,100. It does have 122,000 on it but oh well. 00-1390

 

There's probably a damn good (read: bad) reason the B18 is missing. Steer clear...
