Default 91 crx si w/ 1st gen b16a and sir cluster

Ok since the si motor uses a speedo cable... do i remove it since theres no plug at the back of the sir cluster so im guessing theres no insert on the b16 tranny ..... how do i go about the speed sensor on these clusters...

you'll have to add an electronic VSS and run a couple wires. there's a writeup on this if you search a little. You can toss the cable though

yes but there not clear on the vss sensor goes in the tranny of the b16... correct from there it goes to the ecu? or thats where i donno wuts next the cluster intstall says one wire connects to b16 pin on ecu for speed senor signal..

Right, the ecu needs the speed signal too. You have to split the wire so it goes to both the gauge cluster and the ecu.

and the vss has a ground and a postive... now does that go to ground and 12v postive or does it go to the cluster?

the power needs to go to any switched 12v power on the car... i jsut ran mine back to one of the switched 12v powers on the cluster, and the ground to the speed sensor bolt.

then there should already be a wire for the vss signal going from the cluster to the ecu, so just cut and splice that wire for the signal.

THankz guys i just went to my shop and got on michell and looked at a 1995 civc si with vtec and saw that vss power source uses 12v but it runs threw a 10amp fuse also... and grounds on the back of the engine compartment.... then the signal does to the ecu b16pin and splice there and there is already a yellow orange wire to the cluster
