Default how can i raise the oilpressure??

vtec works the vafc shows that it engages. we had lots of problems before this and during the turbo install. what id like to know is their any type of way to increase oil pressure make vtec hit harder. i was thinking maybe a screw on the oil pump or somewhere else?? need answer !! please help!

vtec is engaged or disengaged. more oil psi will not effect how hard vtec "hits" ...

thicker oil will raise pressure.

As will a stiffer oil pressure relief spring. The problem is that anything you do to raise it is not solving whatever the problem is, it's just masking it. I think 75 psi is enough for most things...

could be, were running b20vtec turbo and we think that the turbo line takes all the oil and it doesnt have enough pressure to hit vtec hard i mean it engages but not as good as we would like. because all motor it was a beast. now it has good bottom end but the top end is alright but not as it was all motor.

sounds like it has very little to do with oil pressure and a lot to do with reversion. what is your oil psi now, and what sized turbo and exhaust system?

It's on or off. If it doesn't "hit hard", which is a bad way to describe it, it's not due to the oil pressure or the vtec system, it's due to the tuning of the motor.

You can make the vtec transition feel like whatever you like, from nothing at all to a tire squealing event. It may be faster the way it is when you don't feel it, but the only way to really know is trying different tunes and looking at the overall power band.

It either has enough pressure to activate vtec or it doest. Theres no in between. If vtec is functioning, its not gonna "hit harder" no matter how much pressure u throw at it.

It either switches the lobes or it doesnt. Do a lil research.

what rpm does it start to fall off at? have you had it properly tuned on a dyno? you shouldn't be ******* around with anything, you should be adjusting things based on measurements.

measurements like horsepower, torque, air/fuel ratio, exhaust gas temperature, plug condition, etc. I don't have hands on experience with turbo motors, but a T3 on a B30 might be a little bit too small. How much boost are you running?

yeh t3 is deff not for high revving motors...but vtec should still help it...boost is like 6 psi

Well the vtec lobes are going to draw more air into the motor, helping outrun the turbo if it's undersized. Does it maintain full boost all the way through the rpms or does it drop off at all? What cams are you using, too?

we currently have no boost gauge, so i wouldnt be able to tell you if boost is falling off and its running on ctr cams...we are running minimum boost possible.

I don't want to sound like an ***, but this is my warning. It seems like you are a little unprepared for this car. Trying to get a turbo car to run with no boost gauge is a little silly. Get everything you need together and either get a wideband O2 or take it to a dyno and get it properly tuned. I don't know what engine management you're using, if you're getting enough fuel, too much timing, or what. A turbo car can be a delicate thing, and go south very quickly if not taken care of, especially since this is an untuned motor. Thats just my advice, I'm trying to help you any way I can.

The CTR cams shouldn't be too big, but if you can adjust them for less overlap that might be a thing to try.

Just be carefull running it before getting it tuned. If it's safe enough, look at the boost at higher rpms, and see if it drops off.
