My mom needs your help.
Ok, she has a '94 Accord EX sedan automatic. She was in the left turning lane when someone appeared to be drifting into the lane toward her. She put the car in reverse to backup some to avoid this car, and now she can't get ANY gear in the car. The car just revs when she hits the throttle but won't move. She tried all gears and none of them will move the car. When she check the fluid level it was low, but even after she filled it up it still wouldn't move. What does this sound like to you guys?
Thanks a bunch!!

Ive done this once b4 in my old car, exact as your moms. I was like doing 40 and accidentally pushed it into reverse. Nothing like that happened to me.
The auto tranny computer will just ignore it cuz it knows if it does that it'll **** on you.

So you're saying that the computer will sense the speed of the car and NOT shift it into reverse?

I believe so. I could be wrong though. The auto trany has its own computer that tells it when to shift and when not to shift. I havent had the ***** to experiment too much with it but i know that it wont shift down if your going to fast, i.e. 70 down to D2. Ive always tried to see what my redline speed is so i know when to downshift. Usually i try to downshift and fall right where its like a lil til redline. If its too close, i think like maybe 1k revs too close, it wont downshift for you. Yes it sounds like I am a ricer, cuz i am, but I just got curious on what it would do. The reverse thing was a total accident though. This is what happens when i get stuck with a auto tranny; I experiment.
Manual downshifting(yea yea ironic) on a auto feels a lot faster than just smashing it and letting it do it by itself.

If she was moving forward or had the rpm's up say like 3g and dropped it into reverse, it def. broke some crap. By you saying it wont go into any gear I'm assuming that it wont hit Reverse either. Possible trashed TC or snapped input shaft. BTW: The computer WILL not save you from this. The gear selector is a cable attached to the trans, it selects the available ranges of gears the tranny has to play with and the Comp plays with the gears. If you lock it in 1 it stays in 1 the ecu doesnt do ****, same in 2, once in 3 or D, the ecu can then change gears. It will not prevent a drive->reverse misshift in any way.
