b16 ecu wiring blues...
Ok so i started my car yesterday with 1 of the 4 extra wires, the 1 being vtec selonoid, and i left the wire that was in it before out. rest of the harness was wired like factory. And it ran.
So today I pull the rest of the 3 wires and leave them exposed, and run the 3 new wires into it. All it does it crank. So I put everything back how it was before and it runs. Everyone told me it would be ok to just leave the old wires out and to just cap them off.
So what do I do now? Wire the subharness directly into the old harness so I will have 2 wires coming out of the plugs?

Ok i'm assuming it's in an HF So i'll jsut tell you what i did.....assuming your motor is OBD0
I went to the junk yard and cut the ecu pins and a good length of wire from an old 2ndgen CRX....for practice and to have something to tie my sensors into.
In the ecu you have the 3 dif types of Clips right...>A/B/C
A8- is for the Vtec selenoid...there's no wire there so just clip that sucker in. If you are pulling the wire out of the harness that came with the engine....it should be a Green/yellow Wire.
B5- Vtec pressure switch. (this will be a code 22 if not grounded correctly) It will be black and blue. You will have to pull out B5. Easy stuff with the right tools
B19- Knock sensor. Red/Blue wire. Easy stuff
C8- 2nd o2 sensor. If it's the XSI motor it'll be TWO single wire sensors. The NEW o2 sensor you are wiring goes to C8 the exisiting o2 sensor pinout is in C16. If you engine runs shitty switch'em.
(If it's the SI motor it'll have one 4 wire o2 sensor and i have no clue how to wire that one.)
Just remember to keep your Butt splices tight and double over the wires before you crimp them.
I hoep i helped a little and didn't jsut confuse you.
It took me a while but i got mine working....there's a pic on the internet that will show the exact pinout of all the stuff with color photo of the back of the ecu. *really helpful*
Good luck dude
