Default tranny

aight guys....i just took off the drain plug on my gsr tranny in my EG hatch. there was not even a half quart of oil in it. i put in about 2.5 quarts from up top, by the tranny mount. car doesnt go into 1st or 2nd. but it goes into 3rd, 4rd, 5th and reverse. someone help me!!! thanks

Did it work before?
What fluid did you put in?
Did any metal come out when you pulled the old oil out?

no metal came out. i used 10w30 motor oil

go and drain it back out
that is your problem

Transmission oil and engine oil are very different, especially in weight. Usually tranny oils are 75W90 I believe

Go get some manual transmission fluid, I am using the motul gear 300, however any manual tranny fluid will do. You can find both synthetic and regular depending on your fancy and budget.

It may even be worthwhile to get some extra tranny fluid and make sure you flush all motor oil out of your transmission.
