hey, im trying to bolt down my subs box and dont know if its safe to send nails down threw that layer of metal in the trunk? i was thinking of takeing the subs out and then putting bolts down threw the open holes for the subs.
if anyone knows if this is a good idea let me know

 

whatever you do just make sure you don't go through any kind of electrical or brake lines or gas lines or any **** like that.

 

how am i supposed to know where any of the lines run?

 

Jack up your car, and go underneath... then you will see where all the lines run. Anyway, how big is your box? In my sedan trunk, I build my box to be approximately 34 inches wide, so if i bolted it down with "L" brackets on each side, I'd be bolting it down to the frame rails... I didn't feel like getting a monster drill bit and drilling through everything.

But anyway, what's the width of you box and what car is this going in? This info will at least help some of us visualize where other bolting points could be.
