Cooling system Puzzle for 6th Gen
I was checking for winter prep and noticed that after only of few minutes (three to five) , cars upper water hose (the hose between radiator and the engine block) is like so hot, you can't touch. But, the lower radiator is barely warm, if at all ??? is this normal ?
After twenty to thirty minutes of driving, same symptoms ?? puzzeled

Also what I have observed is that during the first few minutes, the tranny shifts very well, but then fails to shift into or beyond second gear. Looks like there is definitley a corelation here.
BTW, today as I was looking at all the radiator hoses, Saw a hose (very small in diameter) going from the bottom of the radiator towrads the tranny. The length of the hose is no more than 5 inches. I beleive, it could one of the hoses which carries the tranny fluid. What eally caought my attention was that the hose had "bridgestone" written on it.
Hmm... What is going on here.

um, just from general knowledge...
yup, there's an automatic tranny fluid chamber built-in the radiator to act as a "cooler" for the trans fluid.
hmm, for the temp differential, is the thermostat connected to the lower hose on the engine block side? I know that it's the case on my wife's 95 accord & my nissan 240sx... maybe the t-stat is stuck closed?
another possibility old antifreeze mix, causing a clog in the system or a clog in the radiator itself ( i had to change out the radiator when i saw the external rotting)
