this is one of the best under $100k IMHO. i'm falling in love with this car. from what i've gatherned, it has generated raving reviews by the press. this one is all registered for Cali too. now if I can convince my buddy to pass the baby Lambo and pick this up.
http://home.earthlink.net/~noblegto/

key specs:
0-60 in 3.5 seconds
1/4 Mile in 11.8 seconds. 0 to 100mph in under 8.8 seconds.
1.15G lateral grip (on stock street tires)
Weighs 2380 pounds
enough said! of course i also love the WCM Ultralite S2KR (s2k powered 1250 lbs, $35k). S2KR is probably better at a few things at the track and a better bang for the buck for pure track fun, but would be a crappy daily driver. you can actually daily drive the Noble.
check out these reviews:

Lee Noble has worked on the McLaren F1 (my all time favorite car ever). no wonder he knows how to engineer a super car!!

This has been called the "best handling car ever" by several people in the european automotive press.
I'm not big on the Ford engine, but the american models from 1g Racing come sans drivetrain. I lust over one with a twin turboed NSX drivetrain.

NOble displayed a couple of these cars at Road America this year during the Vintage race weekend. Neat looking cars, but like said before, really sucks it's powered by a ford motor.

I dont get it, maybe I'm missing something.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I'm also missing something. It's a twin-turbo'd six-cylinder, not a truck motor or something.
For a hand-built car that can lunch just about everything else on 4 wheels, I don't think $100K is that unreasonable.

Its not powered by a Ford motor, that's just what the european ones are powered by. The ones you buy here don't come with a drivetrain so you can use any one you want. I just wouldn't really care to use a Duratec based drivetrain.

Anything brittish makes me cringe
stuff in a poo heap ford motor
I mean you take a low production ford motor, stuff it in the back of a car, add twin turbos and cook to perfection would be my initial feeling.
Yeah it's fast, just like the viper.......

Actually the car is engineered around the Duratec motor. That drivetrain is a direct bolt-in. Fitting another drivetrain would require a bit of engineering and fabrication. The final price would most likely go up...if you could find a Noble dealer to do it for you.

Huh ?
I would very much like for some one to show me how ford took a stock duratec motor, bolted twin turbo's on and tuned the ECM to match
IT'S A LOW VOLUME MOTOR
They can't even get the basic v6 mustang to be drama free and they make 12 gillion of them.

It is not a stock Duratec. It is built-up internally (not by Ford) and turbocharged for Noble. When you buy these cars you buy an engine/transaxle to go with it from Noble. A Noble certified dealer puts the engine and transmission in the car and delivers it turn-key to the end customer.
The rolling chassis (turn-key minus) is sold seperately from the drivetrain to get around import/export laws in the US. The drivetrain arrives with, but is not installed in the car. This is common practice in the kit/component car industry.
When did Ford start putting the 3.0L Duratec in Mustangs?

If I had the cash I would buy a Noble in a heartbeat. If WILL NOT UNDERSTEER. It is set up for predictable neutral into oversteer mode. It has been voted the best handling car for like two years in Europe. It has underbody venturi downforce treatment like the Ferrari 360 Modena. The wing actually works in conjunction with the underbody aero. The chassis is pretty much hand made in South Africa and the fit and finish is very nice.
Jeremy Clarkson (look him up if you don't know who he is) after driving the car said that out of all the cars he has driven in his lifetime (and then stated well I have driven almost every car in his lifetime) that the Noble was his favorite "driver's car" that has ever been made. This car at 100K kicks the 225K car exotic supercar's asses. Very light weight, very fast, and still civilized.

I never said there motors were the same thing, but if millions of v6 mustangs have issues to this day with such a widely produced motor then it stands to reason that a motor there is prolly less than 1000 of made by the same company would be even more plagued since after all it's a taurus engine souped up, and stuffed in the back of a car with twin turbos.
I have 2 freinds with the v6 duratecs and they both constantly are plagued it seems by many different issues from cooling to electrical. Recently 1 of them had the fan relay quit while commuting home after less than 80K

At 400 hp, it probably shares nothing but the block casting with the taurus engine.

So they must all suck then.

I had the same opportunity at the Kit/Replicar show at Carlisle last year. The fit and finish of the car rivals some OEMs that I have seen. A good friend of mine is in the Kit/Component car assembly business and was talking with 1G-racing about becoming a Noble dealer. I think he was a little small at the time to be in consideration, but we were drooling about it for a while.
I honestly think that this car may just win the bang for the buck award right now, if you look at the total package.
