Default Anyone ride with H.I.D. lights

I have seen a few around town ( Madison WI ) but im wondering if anyone rides their bike with HID bulbs insted of their stock ones? Or what kind of aftermarket lights do you get for your headlights? And some pictures would be awesome also.

8000k?

Your light output on that must be terrible! if yuo're going to get HID's the higest color temp I'd suggest is the 6000k..anything more and it is a waste. In reality, if you want the best light output, 4300k is the best.

i agree. the higher you get the less output is actually being shined on the road. anything imho over 5000k is riced out and is about the color. i have 4300k d2s bulbs wid s2k projectors in my gsr (i will be doing a retrofit on my bike as soon as i get it ) and the output is awsome.

thats what i like to hear, SMART people

in reality, the absolute best would be lights that put out YELLOW light in a set of OEM projectors. that way yo uget the most light output AND you get that cool diffraction of color

Everyone keeps saying that 8000K sucks and blah blah blah but I have 8000K's on two of my cars and all my friends that get in my ride says, "Damn your lights are bright." They always tell me how they can't see **** when they get back into their cars.

When I drive another car without HID's, sometimes, I can't tell that the lights are even on.

When I'm driving on the freeway and drive next to a new Bimmer, or Lexus, the road in front of me is just as bright as theirs. And my 2000 GS400 with factory HID's are not any brighter than my aftermarket kits.

I know you guys must have some great info on this light output thing but I've just gotta disagree. My 8000K's are a lot brighter than any halogen bulbs. And I don't see them being any less bright than a lower Kelvin system.

they only seem brighter because of the color output. the actual light output of something rated a little lower is more.

yes eglovr is rite. it seems brighter because of its color. i pulled up to a car da other day wid 8000k hid (yes i know it was cuz i can tell) wid my 4300k, mine shined more and better on the ground than he did. its not the color, its the amount of light that projects down on the ground. also try pulling up to a car that has 4100k to 4300k, in da rain, lets see who has more light on the ground, you or him

and yes, your friends who have stock halogen lights are going to think ur lights are better because you have hids...any hids are going to better then stock halogen.

I have no idea what K my OEM Lexus HID's are but they're not brighter than my 8000K's.

And in the rain, I don't think any headlights work well period. I'm not worried about headlight performance in the rain. When its raining, I drive slower.

I gotta admit tho, yellow lights are the best. I've heard of yellow HID's. Know where I can get some?

usually oem hids are 4100k to 4300k. true bout the rain thing tho, more respect for you driving carefully in the rain. i know in seattle (yeah go figure, people should know how to drive in the rain rite ) people suck at driving in the rain. they drive faster it seems cuz, suv drivers especially, think they are masters on the road cuz of their big rigs.

ya know i dont know where you can get those yellow hid bulbs. i want some but id be too parinoid about etting pulled over too many times
