89 honda dash and tail lights out - not fuse!
just bought an 89 accord lxi as a temp replacement car. i find it a pretty good vehicle and may keep it. problem is the dash lights (and tail lights) are out. on the first day the dash lights were out and then came back on. i've seen them flicker a few times but stay on. now, they are completley out and not coming back on. common sense tells me it is not a fuse. fuses either blow or they don't. something was loose enough to cause them to go out and then come back on. now whatever was loose is completely loose. the flicker not flicker problem has progressed over a week. most of this week, they have been on and only off a few times until today.
any suggestions?

while it could be any number of things.. loose ground wires... etc. does it have an old alarm on it not being used anymore? most alarm systems are hooked up to the parking lights which usually affect the dash also. try looking around under the dash for that. you problem could be a loose wire from that. just a thought.
Common sense also says that it could be a fuse that wiggled loose.... In my buddies CRX the blinkers didnt work and he said he checked the fuse and it was good but he never tried pulling it out. Check that first... Then i believe there is more then one fuse for the dash. I'm not sure with the older models but i have heard there are a couple fuses that run your brakes and dash...
