Spoon vs Mugen Strut Tower Bars
Been doing a little research, and would like to buy a set to complement all the other parts going in the car. I'd asked about the Mugens earlier, compared to stock, and most responses indicated that there's a noticable difference, and the pieces are stiffer than stock.
What about the Spoon pieces, compared to stock and Mugens? Couldn't find any comparions, other than price, and the Spoons are $100 less ($190/piece) compared to Mugens ($290/piece). We know Mugen is generally expensive, but this is a big gap, I wonder if the so called "performance" difference is also this big. If the quality of the two units is similar, then it's a no brainer to go with the Spoon bars.

I've got Mugen pieces on all three cars (ITRs). Kepani has the Spoons on his. Ya, after standing on the mugen bars he has now understood why Mugens are superier to the Spoon. I have nothing against Spoon at all but, they seem to have slacked in the "rigid" dept.

I went with the spoon ones because I didn't want to knotch the rear plastic :D (also because I didn't have to wait for them as they were in stock)
They are a 3 piece design, so logically they wouldn't be as rigid as a one piece, however they are doing the job as you can feel the difference between a strut bar and not having one
3 pt carbing or I believe rigid make one as well, would be my ultimate choice for the front, but then having to put holes in for a 3 pt ... i just dont like the idea of drillin

The Mugen strut bars enjoy a theoretical advantage over the Spoon strut bars.
Are you driving in a way that you'd notice this theoretical difference? Probably not, but if you have the extra money and don't mind spending it, go for it.
I have the Spoon bars.
If you're interested in a one-piece bar that doesn't cost quite so much, you might ring up PasswordJDM and as when their bar is available. Leo's been around long enough that he should know what he's doing.

You made me cry
In any case, I've been through numerous bars such as spoon, JIC cf, and others but noticed no considerable difference at all. I suggest you get whatever bar you think looks the best.

Password JDM bars have been released and are on my car. They are one piece aluminum front and rear, the front is a 3 point like Carbing/Rigid bars. These bars are very nice and if I was going to buy they'd be my choice, much nicer than my old stock/spoon combo.
I'm gonna post a full review w/ pics later tonight, thanks again Leo

what theoretical difference? that one piece is superior to 3 piece?

Yes. I doubt any one of us would ever notice the difference, and I see many race cars without one-piece strut bars.
In theory, however, the advantage is there.

If you want a one piece bar get an OE GSR bar. I have a spoon rear bar and OE ITR front bar....i doubt i'd notice any difference if i were to swap them to single piece bars
I think the good thing about 3 piece, taking the spoon for example, where it ties directly to your strut mounts, is that you have some adjustability.
Eg. if your car squats more then the bolts for the mounts might be on a different angle? which is why you should install struts when the car is on the ground,... kinda theory....
I'm probably not making sense...

I don't think it makes that much of a difference. I have both the front and rear Spoon bars and they work just fine. In your case, I'd just use Spoon because they're cheaper and spend that saved $$ on other stuff.
