92 Accord EX swapping tranny with 94
I found myself in a bit of a predicament lately. A few months ago my 1992 Honda Accord EX 4dr 5spd stopped running. I took it to college with me on a tow truck, and started tearing it apart. I took the motor and tranny out, broke down the whole motor, completely redid the head, got alot of stuff cleaned up, started getting prices for the parts i needed, and sent my crank to the machine shop to get it fixed from the bearing i spun. Well today i got a call from the machine shop saying my crank was no good and I would have to buy a new one. I see this as just one more thing to make the whole job not worth it... with the gasket kit, rings, bolts, and now crank and rods and everything that i will have to buy, it's not going to be worth it i figure. So i have been looking around, and i have found some different options. One would be a 1994 accord with a blown tranny for $400, but thats all i know about it. Is there any reason I can't bolt my F22A6 92 EX tranny to the 94 engine? And If i took the engine out of that car and put it into my 92, would it fit without modification, and what would i need to do to make it work, i.e. what will have to be changed out, will the 92 ecu work if say the 94 is automatic. are auto and manual ecu's different? Some insight would be helpful and i appreciate any help.
also, on another note, If i want higher compression pistons that will fit my engine without going aem, what f22 engine has a 10.1 or 9.5 compression ratio? i've heard the f22b has a 9.5:1, would these fit right into the f22A6
Here's another one i just found, 1991 prelude si for $150 the whole car w/front end damage, will this engine fit in my car, and if so, how much modification would be needed?
thanks
Dan

yes, it will fit. you may use your stock mounts, axles, linkage, wire harness. make sure you get the 94 exhaust manifold as your original will not work. some modification will be needed to connect the downpipe to the catalytic though.

do not do it. it would not work without major modification. also with poor power numbers it would not be worth it to modify your car for this swap
