Default Acceleration Stuttering

For about a month, my car - a 1990 STD - has been stuttering when I accelerate from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, and sometimes 3rd to 4th. Only when I accelerate hard. I took it to a shop and they performed an induction cleaning - this didn't fix it. They put a new throttle body on it - the TPS sensor wasn't good anymore - and replaced the dashpot and gaskets; it still stutters though. I had changed my gas from 93 - which I had been running in it for over 2 years - to 87. It seems to have happened around then. It seemed like it was starting before then, but I couldn't say for sure. Also, a few months ago, my engine was rebuilt from top to bottom - head, block, rings, valves -the works. The clutch replaced as well.

Was the problem fixed when you replaced the igniter on those 3 beaters?

on two of them it was the igniter on the third i don't actually know what caused it.... i sold the car to an old friend before fixing it and he never did say if replacing the igniter fixed his problem or not. you can order an igniter from honda for about $80 i think.... but it'll probably be easier to find someone that has a spare dizzy sitting around and just swap with them.

if you've got a "Spare" honda sitting around try swapping igniters with it... it's not that hard to do... just take off the dizzy cap and the igniter has two wires... it's a small black box looking thing... i forget exactly how it's mounted.

good luck
