Default YS1 Cable Trans and Hydro Gears Question

I know it's possible to drop in hydro gears into the YS1 trans. My question is if it is possible to mix and match the gears from a hydro and cable? I need a 2nd gear for my YS1 and thinking about dropping in a hydro GSR 2nd gear into it.

What casing YS1 do you have? a JDM one?

I have a YS1 (93GSR) gears in Hydro casing..... and it works Flawlessly.
Some of the gears you can change but it all comes down to what casing you have. YS1 is a JDM and US casing. The US one has 2 12mm bolts on the bottom.

i'm pretty sure the 94+ gsr 2nd gear is diff. than 93 gsr 2nd...as in not as good for acceleration.

all 92+ trannies are the same. hydro or cable. its the 90-91's and earlier jdm b16 stuff that is very much different.

Does the casing have to be shaved down in any place?

the ys1 casing comes for LS and GSR in USDM models and XSi and SiR in JDM models. the GSR, XSi and SiR ones can take and 92+ gearing easily enough, the LS one is tricker becuase of fitment issues when trying to close up the casing.

BTW, I have a few of these for sale, pm if interested

a few trannies ... meaning extra ys1 cases, extra tight gears b16a and 94+ GSR gearsets and I even have about 4 89-91 small spline b-series cable trannies.

I already have a YS1 casing from an LS. I thought it would be the same. If I new that you were selling cases, I wouldn't have bought a YS1 tranny. I've known people that have dropped the 4.7FD in the LS casings and said it wasnt't that difficult......but I've never done one before so I wouldn't know.

What clutch should I buy for this setup also? 92-93 or 94 and up? I know the pressure plate should be fine, but what disc?

On the ACT pricelist, there are 2 part numbers for the 92-93 and 94 and up....does that matter?
